Incoming payments when switchign the account

It has been the case for a really long time that when switching the bank account this would result in outgoing payments such as direct debits moving over to the new account automatically. But at the same time it was aleways the case for any incoming payments (eg. salary, benefits etc.) needing to be switched automatically.
Howwever having looked online recently this doesn't appear to be the case any longer?

The very first question in the FAQ at https://www.currentaccountswitch.co.uk/help-support/ answers this:Q. What happens to payments that people send to my old account?
A. The Current Account Switch Service will redirect payments to your new account. Each time an electronic payment is redirected an automatic message is sent back to the originator advising them of the new account details so they can update their records. Some organisations may contact you directly to confirm your details have changed.
