Debt recovery plus for parking fine for someone else who provided my address

We airbnb a room in a property and unbeknown to me a guest nearly a year ago used our address to register a car.  Now we are getting mutiple PCN's for that car. I have notified the DVLA and they said they have updated their records, but still I am getting these letters.
One letter was half opened so I read and it is notice of court proceeding from Debt recovery plus.
Obviously this person does not live at our address and I have no contact details for them - should I just ignore these letters?  Assume it cannot put bad mark on our address, only on that person? - I suspect they probably do not even live in this country now.

Did the Guest provide an address when booking your property originally?

Just mark the envelope as Return to Sender - Addressee Gone Away and stick them into a postbox next time you pass one, no need to put any postage on it.

When people start receiving their letters back they then tend to do more investigations but its not a guarantee it'll stop if they cannot find any better address for the person (court action requires you use the last known address)

Credit History is personal not address based so unless their name is similar to yours then it won't impact your credit rating

The first thing is that DRP ARE TALKING RUBBISH AS USUAL, DRP cannot take anyone to court, only the PPC can ... who is the PPC ?

It's good that the DVLA has confirmed you are not the keeper and I trust you have this in writing or email

You will still keep getting letters from these idiots because the PPC can only obtain details once from the DVLA and the DVLA would not advise the PPC as such.

FORGET DRP .... they are only unregulated money scammers and can do nothing ... 100% POWERLESS

Did DRP use your real name ??

You need to contact the PPC with the DVLA proof and tell them to cease immediately which also means they tell DRP to cease

As one poster says, you could use the Elvis Presley approach ...., "return to sender" but that will not stop them

Proof to the PPC is the only way

ive already tried returning to sender, the letters continue.

no, my name is not used at all on any letters.

ok, well it seems they can't do much here I'll probably just ignore the letters as they are not anything to with me - and if they ever do anything I have the letter from the DVLA confirming that they removed the persons details from my address.

    thanks!

But who is the PPC ? the DRP junk letter will say

Shows just how stupid DRP are threatening to take "NO NAME" to court

BUT this is not going to stop until you prove to the PPC
  • Just keep posting the letters back marked as "No such person at this address". No need for postage.

That's not going to stop these un-educated idiots
But if that what the OP is going to do, add some dog sh*t

It will eventually. Just needs the OP to have the fortitude to do this and get on with their lives.

I'd reply and send a copy of the DVLA confirmation that this was a false address; and show that your property was listed as AirBnB and someone clearly misused the address.  Finish by attaching the DVLA proof and tell them to cease and desist.

    That should stop the letters.
