Eon smart meter changing late at night

Morning
We have an eon smart meter,  the past week or so about 11.45pm it changes last night it went from 6.99 to 4.85, I don't understand,  does anyone know how I can see historical readings of what my daily readings are please....  Many thanks

And you probably are referring to the In House Display (IHD), rather than the meter itself?

Morning, sorry for not being clear enough, its the meter display in my house it combines gas and electricity usage, but it is changing late as night, it is in pounds. thanks

If you log into your eon account you should be able to see your meter readings. 

You can also use the number on your hand held reader (the in home display) to register with one of the apps that shows your 30 min use:

Can you register without an IHD ?

Would be a bit silly if you can't as many of these will be in the WEEE bin !

You do not need an IHD for third party apps to work, but you do need the GUID/MAC/EUI address that's printed somewhere on it. 

I took a picture of the barcode on mine then chucked it - but failing that, your supplier should be able to tell you the number you need.

I knew you needed the MAC or something.

So you can't use anything on the meter / comms module ?

Don't think so - it's set during the installation process (and until that point the engineer could grab any IHD from the van). 

Not sure why they did it that way, but it seems that how they did it.
