ISA direct to HMRC for IHT

Hi,
Dad died in June.
HMRC have said we need to pay over £100,000 as a first payment before they'll issue Grant of Probate.
Dad has a shares ISA with Barclays Smart Investor. It'd pay a good chunk of this.
Can I get Barclays to cash the ISA in and pay it direct to HMRC with probate. We have a HMRC Reference number. I can't see why not as we're simply trying to pay what we have to, and stand to gain nothing ourselves until after HMRC have had all the IHT due.
The executors and recipients are myself and my two sisters. We're all in this together and pulling in the same direction.

Speak to Barclays bereavement team to see if they will pay HMRC direct using the Direct Payment Scheme for IHT. If they can you should also ask them to sell all the assets and hold the proceeds in cash. Once done you can submit an IHT 423 to HMRC and they will claim the money directly.

The reason I say convert the assets to cash is to safeguard it from a fall in value and so that you know exactly how much you can request to be paid to HMRC.2 -
