2 hours free at long stay car park.   This is from their website.

    Drop-off and pick-up

The drop-off zones are located directly outside the airport terminals and are the most convenient place for dropping off passengers quickly and easily. A minimum £5 charge now applies - click here for more information, and to pay the charge after usage.

We recommend that you use the Short Stay car parks for picking up passengers as this tends to take longer. Alternatively you can drop off, pick up and park for free for up to two hours in our Long Stay car parks.

There used to be cars park up at McDonalds but I believe they brought in a time limit some years ago. Depending where you’re travelling from how about services on the M25 or M23. Drive time from there to Gwk probably no more than 30 minutes?

I used the Official long stay car park as above.  Just drive up, take a ticket and follow the signs to an open zone.   There are very frequent shuttle busses to and from the terminal or you can tell your passenger which stop you are near. Exit within 2 hours no charge.
  • Thank you everyone. Ive downloaded a flight tracker and will stop off at a service station to reduce the risk of going over 2 hours.

But be aware, you can't stay at a service station parked up near Gatwick. £100 parking charge from a scammer.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
