Morning everyone
Sorry to hear your sad news NRA
Lovely bright morning - it's supposed to be nice here for a couple of days before the rain starts again.
I'm back to work at lunchtime and little one back at school - she was very excited yesterday to see her friends again.
On Saturday afternoon I taught her how to play Frustration after I found it in a cupboard from when my girls were little - I explained how to play and said mind you can't start until you get a 6. So she gets threes 6s in a row and beats me...then goes on to win the next 2 games! We took it down to mam and dads yesterday and played it with my mam too - dad enjoyed listening as he can't see the pieces, or the board come to that.
She played with her kitchen after lunch, pretending it was a cafe and I was the customer then we went for a walk with her scooter before DD picked her up.
Lots of fireworks last night and some were so loud - little cat spent the evening tucked behind the sofa. DD said it was noisy at her house too but she managed to get little one to sleep.
I'd better get on or I'll get nothing done before work. Hope everyone has a good day today x

Morning all and thanks for starting us off @ScarletRibbons xx
Sorry to hear about your DMIL @newroadahead xx
I'm WFH today - I usually go into the office on a Monday but will go in tomorrow and Wednesday this week to help with chaperoning interview candidates tomorrow. It's a sunny day, if a bit chilly. I have two loads of towels to do today - first load already in - will put them on the line for a blow and finish off inside later. Dinner tonight is pizza for DD and pitta pizza for me. DH back late tonight from his boys weekend away.
Your road trip to Oban sounds wonderful @Gers - such a beautiful part of the country x
I too hope the fireworks have finished @TravellingAbuela - so flaming loud!
Have a good day all,
Coxy

Hi everyone,
NRA, I'm sorry for your loss.
It does sound beautiful Gers, we've toured the borders and the Highlands but never really done the East coast (apart from Glasgow). We're talking about doing a trip next year some time, perhaps we could arrange a meet up.
The family are safely in Costa Rica, apparently the children were troupers on the plane which is a relief. We bought Esben a Kindle tablet for his birthday and Christmas presents and apparently that was a godsend. They got there at 4pm local time, which was 11 our time and Esben fell asleep just before they landed for a few minutes. He was asleep by 7 but then woke at 2am so I'm hoping he had a better night last night (or rather is still having a better night).
I am working through the list of jobs I made for when they are away. I want to sort the utility room today and get rid of a lot of cleaning products I no longer use. Any ideas on where they can go? I also want to clear the main bathroom of all the family products and toys to allow the cleaner to have a thorough go at it, I'll put them back before they return. It's yet another new cleaner although she did cover during half-term and she seemed good. I'll have to leave her though because Crystal has asked me to go across and watch Nate while she has an appointment.
We have had a hole in the ground directly outside our drive for the last couple of weeks and they are finally filling it in. It was for gasworks and the whole road has holes at various points and times although our hole has been open the longest, I think it is some sort of junction point. I shall be glad not to have to bump up and down the kerb to get off the drive.
Have a good day.9 -

I'd love to meet up, although I'm on the west coast! About 400 yards from it when the tide is in.Glasgow is also west coast - Edinburgh is on the east coast. The east coast is also very beautiful in a different way. The train journey from Newcastle up to Aberdeen is such a joy.

@newroadahead - Hugs and condolences to your family.
@TravellingAbuela - We were told that to about waiting. Finally got our shot this last week. Friend in Colorado has it now. It is still going strong. Have to wear masks in medical buildings now.
