Morning again, it's dry outside, but seems cold. Yesterday was dry as well, I'm missing the rain already!Nothing much going on here, just a bit of shopping, and general household jobs.Izzy I think I heard you last night Screaming In The Dales, sounds like a good title for a tv series, what do you think. We heard a few fireworks last night, but I'm expecting tonight to be the worst.Glad you've got your salary sorted out Coxy.RosyRed, it's nice that your dgd is keen on cooking and sewing, both skills can save you a lot of money. When are you having the weekend with your dd Ruby, it sounds lovely.Hope everyone has a good day today, thoughts to our poorly people, Coxy's dad and anyone else who isn't well.Take care folks.11

Thanks for starting us off Scarlet. It's much duller than yesterday though, so far, not raining. I didn't do any of the planned scanning yesterday, I'm really hunkering down into winter slothness. However I put on the DW and emptied it, made a lovely lunch, put away the dried washing and did some exercises (a bit half heartedly)This morning I've been more productive already. I did all my exercises with full vigour, pulled out all the paperwork to be scanned, pulled out the scanner and portable hard drive and made a coffee. Today I really must do the scanning otherwise I may disappear under the pile though I should go out to get some protein for lunch, maybe chicken or a bit of steak. My local shop doesn't sell belly pork which is what I really want today. There's always an organised fireworks and bonfire on the town front green. This morning there'll be loads of blokes going across to build the fireworks on the wee island across from the green, lots of pallets appeared last week in readiness. They have to wait for low tide to get across and back. I once saw then on a wee dinghy with overhead ropes taking stuff over.Keep safe everyone.8

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. No rain here but we have thick fog blanketing us. Typical November weather.
I am housebound this morning waiting in for a delivery. Any time up to 11.45 my message said. So I suppose I can expect it around 11.44 then! As soon as it's delivered I want to go down to catch the bus along the valley to the next little town along as there's a shop I want to visit. I am hoping the fog lifts before I set off.
Last night I went to a show (with little stalls selling their wares beforehand) all profits in aid of a local charity. The 2 girlies were dancing so my main reason for going! They did us proud as usual. I heard later, via DD, that a good amount of money had been raised and the charity organisers were delighted. There was the usual goody area with coffee and cakes for a donation and I pigged out on scrumptious rocky road which was the best I have ever had!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. I hope the fireworks aren't too bad IZZY and ROSY.. We haven't had any this time, until last night!. But why do they have to be so loud! I suppose there will be many more tonight. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, can't believe you're missing the rain!
It's dry here too so there's lots of washing out including the bedding, yesterday's washing was nearly dry, just needed airing. My washing basket is empty! The bathrooms have been cleaned, bed remade and I'll run the hoover about later.
Must do some shopping, I've been using the contents of the fridge all week but that's just about all gone now. I feel the need for some soup in this colder weather so may make some later.
Sounds like the whole community gets involved in your bonfire night Gers, good to see.
It'll soon be over Izzy, hope your doggo is ok.
Great you have a weekend booked with your DD Ruby, I used to do the same with DD, perhaps we can start it again.
Time I went in the shower (and put more washing in the basket!). Have a good weekend, take care. XX8 -
Morning all. Wet and dreary here again.
Yesterday we did a 6.5 mile walk with friends but part of the way was flooded so the detour added another 2 miles to our route. We decided that meant we could eat whatever we liked at the pub, which luckily was still serving meals, so I had a very nice stuffed pork fillet with mustard mash and green veg
Today I have some catching up to do at home, ironing etc and a probable afternoon of sloth watching rugby on tv.
Hope everyone else enjoys their day.9 -
Morning everyone
Back from my travels yesterday afternoon - we had a lovely time in the nicest caravan overlooking the sea. It rained quite a bit and one night it sounded as if we might blow into the sea, but the weather didn't stop us going out. Little one has enjoyed lots of activities such as climbing and aerial adventures which involved going down a zip wire which she loved. Also more sedate things such as plant pot painting and lots of dancing with the Fun Stars.
She's coming up later and will stay over then I'll take her down to see great gran and great grandad in the morning. I'll go down this morning to do his banking and then I've got a Tesco delivery coming later as the fridge is bare. I'm hoping there aren't too many fireworks tonight - my cat will go behind a sofa and tremble and little one likes the colours but not the noise.
Ruby - my eldest DD and I usually have a day out between Christmas and New Year, usually to Edinburgh, and go shopping and have a nice lunch out. Sometimes we stay over too.
I have read back but the only thing that has stuck in my memory is that Coxy re-negotiated her new wages - well done and there's been lots of rain in the South of the country.
Little cat was thrilled to be let out into the garden - my mam has been feeding her and sorting the litter tray - but she usually uses the field over the fence to do her business so was ready to escape.
Right I'd better get on. Hope everyone has a good day today x

Hi everyone,
At last a chance to get on the laptop without little fingers tapping the keys, Esther is fascinated by it. They left yesterday for their holiday in Costa Rica, although they are flying today. They went by train because the local train goes direct to Gatwick, it saved us driving round the M25. Unfortunately, when we got to the station Brian realised he'd left the backpack with the passports and paperwork in it behind so they missed that train.
I have made a list of things to do while they are away so we'll be busy, not all of it is work though. Next week Chris, Crystal and Nate are coming to stay and we will go to the zoo (hopefully it will be a bit nicer than today). We'll also spend a few days at the Yorkshire house.
Coxy, well done on your new contract. I hope your dad is as well as can be - some alternative therapies can be very useful alongside western medicine but Steve and I saw a Chinese herbalist who was rubbishing his NHS treatment so we never went back.
dp1, I'm glad you had a good time away.
Izzy, I'm sorry your dog is so scared, I hope tonight isn't too stressful.
Rosy, it's nice that your dgd is interested in sewing, Laura had some lovely times crafting with Steve's mum when she was young, they were very close (Esther is named after her). I didn't have that, one grandmother died when I was five and the other had no interest in crafting, sewing and so on.
Have a good day.8 -
Morning all
Raining here again 😳 and set in for the day our road is flooded half way over the road the cars are still racing through, we will be fine as our house is up on a bank so we won’t be affected but some just up the road have been flooded before so I bet they are worried. If the village pond bursts its banks they will be flooded again 😩
DD is working a night shift tonight so big pup will stay her with us, both dogs hate the fireworks but I got some ‘calm and relaxed’ treats from Amazon which do seem to help them, we make sure all the windows and doors are shut and have the tv on loud hopefully the rain will stop some of them tonight.
Dinner will be burger in a bun and chips, OH will cook which will give me a night off, housework to do this morning but it won’t take long with all three of us.
DD and I are off to Brighton next Friday for our excursion 😃 we will stay overnight and come back Saturday afternoon I am very much looking forward to it, I got quite a bit of shopping done yesterday so I need to sort it out and get it hidden, it’s under the bed atm.Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Hi everyone and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
Raining here. DD's washing is on and will be festooned on the airer later. I've listed some more Bay of E items - people very generously gift me things and they won't sell sat in the spare room. I've ordered a Oc@do delivery for tomorrow as they kindly sent me a money off voucher. Saves me time and diesel, so a win win.
Unfortunately a good friends' sister died this morning - just 47. We were meant to be going out for a lunch today to celebrate friends' 50th so all very traumatic for her and her folks. I've known the family since I was 12. Thanks for all the good wishes for DDad. He has been getting out for coastal walks in Cyprus where the weather is lovely and warm. Just waiting to hear about next steps.
For those going out fire-working - hope you stay dry. I have DS1s pup tonight and have no idea how he will be - time will tell!
Have a good afternoon everyone.
