Ebay postal options

I am selling an item on ebay.  It's been a while since I sold on Ebay and the process of choosing which service to post your item has changed a lot in this time.  I wanted to only sell in the UK. Initially I wanted to put p&p at £3.50 but ebay kept defaulting to £6.99 so I left it at that.  I now have 1 bidder who is in France.  I haven't a clue what it will cost me to send to France and I am hoping the £6.99 might cover it, but can anyone tell me for future reference how I could have sold to UK customers only... and possibly explain why I kept getting a default of £6.99 regardless of what service I opted for.    (Sorry it's a lot of waffle,) Thank you

You can use your ebay seller settings to remove overseas sales and either stop them completely or use the ebay GSP system. I personally use the GSP system (Global shipping programme) as ebay then handle it all and all I have to do is send my item to ebay in the UK.

Sending to France is going to be expensive, you can check if you go into Royal mail online and add the weight and parcel size, you also have to handle the VAT and taxes and use a customs form.
