    Not sure if any potential profit from doing that would offset some of the drastic depreciation that some EVs are experiencing 
    Don't be so quick to dismiss.
    There is 2016 30kWh leaf on Autotrader for £4,995. Can you buy a 30 kWh home battery for that price?

    Of course this relies on the car being V2H compatible.

    But as car prices come down then they become better value.

    Also presumably the OP isn't just using the car to store electricity, but is using it to drive around as well. So the reselling energy aspect is just an optional extra. Depreciation would happen whichever car they have (it may of course be more for some EVs than for other cars).
