    That's interesting. The Smile current account comes with a £500 overdraft, it isn't optional, it's standard. If you are not eligible for the overdraft, you don't get the account. They are quite clear on this. It shouldn't have been possible to apply for the smile current account without an overdraft. I wonder if they have changed the application process to say you will get a Co-op current account if you don't want an overdraft?

    I can't remember now. I'm sure I applied for a Smile account and may have had it confirmed that I was eligible for the overdraft but chose not to have it. In any event, I have ended up with a Co-operative Bank account which I am using to take advantage of their switching offer that ended yesterday, and which has an overdraft limit of £0.00.
