Ive got a hotpoint washing machine lately when the cycle gets to the last minute on the timer it starts the whole cycle again but says 1 minute all the way through the wash
This goes on for hours but the timer just says 1 minute

It's not a mechanical fault obviously. Control module then.

Could it be the washing in the drum is out of balance ?
I've had that in the past where washing is all on one side of the drum and until the washer sorts that out if keeps going back to previous mode1 -
Our LG used to do a similar thing when it detected an unbalanced load, but would flash up a warning code and only do the last rinse and spin cycle rather than starting the whole wash cycle.Had to manually turn it off, wait for it to drain before the door unlocked, then take out half the sodden load and just do a final spin cycle for each half separately. Very annoying until we could replace it.0

I had similar. Does it appear to be spinning and draining properly?
First check with any washing machine issues is that there is nothing stuck in the filter.
Mine wasn't spinning as fast as it used to and the issue turned out to be the Carbon brushes had warn down. The machine is about 8 years old and they don't last forever. I got some new carbon brushes off eBay for £10 and it took about 30mins max to fit them following a YouTube video. If it's less than a few years old, it's probably not going to be the Carbon brushes0 -
Its about 3 years old the weird thing is it only does it on one particular cycle 😕0
