EDF email containing tracker
I just received an email from EDF and I just thought I'd check it for trackers and spy pixels. To my surprise, the email contained a tracker from Amazon. Why might this be? The email was the latest nudge about 'smart' meters and how the RTS shutdown next year is going to screw up my off-peak tariff.

I just received an email from EDF and I just thought I'd check it for trackers and spy pixels. To my surprise, the email contained a tracker from Amazon. Why might this be?Probably analytics and audit trail. Things that let them know the email was received and opened. I have used them in the past with clients to give me the audit trail that shows they received something and opened the email so they cannot come back later and say they didnt get it.

Thanks for the replies. I've moved my email address for EDF to a provider that blocks trackers and spy pixels.0
