Someone responded to the email I sent to customer services of Dial123 but they wish to have my account details to get a payment back. The other solution they offer is for me to claim from my credit card. is it safe for me to give my account details when I am not 100% sure who is responding to those emails?

Can ask for a cheque if you wanted but they may not have a cheque book for their account. Like others have said, been giving out those details for a while. Every time you sent a cheque in the past you’ve given those details out.

  • Hi, I appreciate this thread hasn't been open in a while.  I also had a Dial 123 account that still had money in.  I've just realised that the company is no longer active. How do I go about getting my money back?

You contact the liquidator you can find their details at:
    https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/4478151

They're insolvent though saying they've no assets and owe over £25k plus the cost of liquidation so if you get a penny or two in the pound for how much you're owed you'll be doing well as an unsecured creditor
