The kicker is standing charges edging towards £1 a day for dual fuel.

    National average (inc VAT)

    Electric: 27 pence per kWh and 53 pence per day for the daily standing charge
    Gas: 7 pence per kWh and 30 pence per day for the daily standing charge.
