Help please, eBay Return Label

Hi,
Am engaged in a return which I opened in ebay. (item not as described, part faulty). which the seller accepted and sent their own return label. this is Royal Mail prepaid so I won't have to pay postage on it. However I'm not sure it is fully tracked, certainly where I am the postie says they don't necessarily track every single one of 'tracked48' items.
However, the label is quite clearly for another retail merchant. It has the merchant's return warehouse address on it, and the sender's name & address as the 'from' address in small print. so Clearly, this is on the seller's personal account with this other retailer. They simply advertised the item on ebay, purchased it themselves from the other retailer, and arranged the other retailer to mail it direct to me.
Assuming I use this label to send the item back - am I covered in the ebay returns process? because surely the merchant will refund the seller when they receive the item. they won't refund me. perhaps I am being silly but then it seems a bit of a gamble to me, what if the seller claims he wasn't refunded by the original merchant & would I then be out of pocket?

I would play safe and phone eBay, as this is (hopefully) a business seller their business details will be on their listings. Explain that the item doesn’t appear to be going back to the seller, but to a third party and you have concerns about whether it will track if it ends up in a warehouse.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
