Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark raining and blowing a gale - but don't think it's as bad here as in other parts of the country.
Dinner last night was pork steaks with LO mash, veg, yorkshires and gravy. Will get some eggs on way home from work, we'll have gammon, egg and chips.
Will see how busy work is.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Cold this morning, would imagine I will have to scrape the car before I go to work. The stars are twinkling and the moon is very bright, yesterday it rained all day and was throroughly miserable.
I slept in yesterday and was chasing my tail all day. Had to go and collect something for work so had an early finish and was home by 4 which was a lovely treat.
Glad your DD is enjoying her new job Coxy. Hope your Dad is comfortable.
Your poor little dog Izzy, the fireworks are awful for the animals.
Hope your appointment went well Scarlet and you didn't have too long to wait.
Not a great end to your day out TA but worse for someone.
Hope everyone is safe from the storm.
No trick or treaters here thank goodness - we don't have any littlies in our road but I did see a lot of folk out in the roads behind me when I was on my way home.
Remember the debacle with collecting my parcel last week? I gave them a terrible review and they have given me a £10.00 voucher. I'll let DD have it as I'm not going in that shop again!
Time to get ready for work, hope you all have a good day. Take care. XX10 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.Hi Abbafan, keep on posting!Would you believe it, it's raining - yesterday was dry until evening. My Ct Scan went ok yesterday, I wasn't in long, and was called in prsctically as soon as I'd sat down in the waiting room Thanks for the good wishes everyone. It's the camera investigation next week.TA, glad you got home all right after your lunch out, it must have been a really bad accident.Snoozer, rant away, this is a safe ranting area on here - I'm sure most of us have bitten our tongues to shreds with family sometimes, even though they are adults.Coxy, glad your dd is enjoying her job, you can stop worrying about her, for now at least. We are visiting an old friend this morning, another one who is more or less housebound, though she can get out if friends take her, and she has a lot of friends.Izzy, there are fireworks every night here, we are sick of them. We don't have any animals, but it's the sudden noise. Hopefully after the weekend it'll stop, your poor little dog must be terrified.Hope everyone has a good day today, thinking of anyone who is poorly or sad.Take care folks.12

Morning folks and double GRR! I have just lost a pageful of waffle somewhere and haven't the willpower to type it all again. Nothing remotely interesting as usual. So have a good day all and be safe, especially if you are in the path of the storm. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10

Morning everyone it’s pouring down here and it’s cold my rain dance is working unfortunately it’s not stopped the fireworks it seemed non stop last night and went on until late I love them but at a display but these are streets away and they sound like bombs going off I pity the houses next to them and what about all the horses and sheep there’s no where for them to get away from them if we can get this week over we only have to worry about New Year’s Eve we have never had a dog that’s been terrified before and it’s awful to see . Off to work in a minute I’ve got some stewing steak in the slow cooker with veg so that’s casserole done when I get in tonight. I’m determined to work off the freezer this month I am making a dent in it but it will save me some money and I have Xmas food to go in it next month.thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all and thanks for the start @nmlc x
We have torrential rain and high winds here, thanks to Storm Ciaran. DD has just left to get her train but there are delays. She has taken the 'big umbrella' so we will see if it makes it home again!
Glad that you got some compo for poor service @camelot1001
Very pleased to hear that you didn't have to wait long for your procedure @ScarletRibbons x
I have my flu jab this afternoon at my local B00ts. Work gives us a voucher and I thought as I'll be working in a hospital from the end of the month, it was worth me getting jabbed. I also saw an item on Olio for free, so will pick that up whilst out, plus drop off another couple of Bay of E charity sale parcels at the Post Office.
Dinner tonight is grilled gammon, egg, sw chips and baked beans. I've booked a ticket at the cinema for the film Sumotherhood which is a British comedy about failed gangsters. It's only 1.5 hours long compared to the epic 3.5 hours last week. Will use my limitless membership and hope to stay awake.
Hope everyone has a good day and isn't too affected by the storm.

It's good to hear that your procedure went well Scarlet.Yesterday remained foul all day, most dispiriting, I remained indoors, did my admin jobs and then cracked on with a piece of analysis work for the pool. I was very snug under the heated throw. This morning I'm off to my pool exercise class. The road up to my Monday class is still blocked though work is going on to clear it and also create a new temporary route out of a forestry road which cuts round the blocked area.My thoughts are with those who are affected by the storm which is swirling round the south and east of England. I hope that you can keep safe and warm.10

Morning all
Terrible night here right in the danger zone for the storm, lots of trees down locally and a lot of roads are impassable due to more rain I am just debating trying to get to work but most of my routes are closed there is one way I could try but I am worried about getting home again with Rob, I will have a think about it and keep checking the roads on FB.
Dinner tonight will be pizza and salad nice and quick and easy I have put a wash on this morning which will have to be hung inside, will have a clean through as well.
Scarlet I’m glad the procedure went well xx
Coxy how is your dad doing ? Xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all
At the moment we seem to be out of the way of the storm but I'm off down the M1 tonight so things might be different by then. The window cleaner called yesterday and then, of course, it rained!
DD had over 60 visits on Halloween and ran out of sweeties; ended up giving them chocolate digestives from the cupboard. They do decorate the outside of the house nicely and her husband has a bubbling cauldron by the side of the door and then hands out smaller cauldrons filled with sweets. No wonder they're popular.
Played at a Morris talk for a WI group last night. It was one of the younger groups that started up after the Calendar Girls film and they have over 100 members plus a waiting list to join. Very good tea and cakes afterwards too.
Today I've skipped breakfast as we're meeting DD and the 4 week old grandson at a tea room that also does breakfast so I'll enjoy a bacon sandwich or something. Haven't organised anything for dinner; will see how full I am later on. Our meals yesterday both came from Community Larder supplies. some of the things are very nice but others I certainly wouldn't buy in the shops. I came home with a huge bag of surplus spinach leaves for my neighbour's rabbit and left it on her doorstep.
Hope everyone stays out of harms way with the weather.9 -
Morning! Riing and a bit windy but we aren't near the brunt really so apart from a few flooded roads, and thankfully a non flooded sewer [happens every time there's a bit downpour] we're good. Bit nippy so I've put the heating on. It was a real relief to find all downstairs radiators working when I thought only two were. Saves me lighting the fire for an odd bit of heat. I'm cooking my beans today to make refried beans, I might have gone a bit overboard but if 16 people eat it, there won't be any left. Shopping later for the rest of the christmas cake ingredients and the rest of the stuff to make guacamole, enchiladas and bits and pieces. That means a shower but with the heating on, the towe will be nice and toasty. I've got to lay the fire for the cat sitter and a few other things in readiness. I like going away but I don't like the anticipation, the organisation and the thinking of jobs in advance...Coxy, glad she's enjoying herse;f! enjoy the film too. Camelot, an early fnish, woop woop! Scarlet, glad your procedure went ok and you didn't have to wait. Same here with the fireworks, we had them going off at half twelve the last couple of nights. Izzy, stop dancing. Really...:) Gers, kudos ot them for finding solutions even though it's still a massive disruption for all involved. Ruby, go careful... WL, I keep meaning to join a WI, it does look interesting and of course, there are free talks
Take care all, especilly those who have been and are affected by atrocious weather..
