Canon IP 3600 printing

We have the above printer which has not been used for about 10 years but is still in good nick. I have thoroughly cleaned the print head and installed new inks. I have also updated the drivers to win 10. However the printer does text ok but not photo's. It seems to take a 1/4 slot of one side of the picture and prints 4 copies of just this slot. I checked the same photo on our laser printer and apart from being B & W it came out ok. Any thoughts as to why it will not print properly in colour. Yes we could scrap it but we won't do it until its definitely not possible to use.

Not sure what you mean by slot. A slot is a long thin hole in something?

That's going to be a paper size setting in whatever you're using to print the picture.

You can have one program set to normal A4 which may be your normal word document, and then in Paint.net (or whatever) it's for some reason decided to do whatever that is.

In fact I think if you try and print from Paint (which comes with Windows) it tries to be clever and ther'e sno guarantee you get what you've sent.

Right, I loaded a page of pictures and chose one. Right clicked on it and chose the picture size etc and printed ok.
