I am finally getting around to looking at this aspect of my 'closing down' plans!
Quick question: I am amazed at the price discrepancy (usually in the hundreds of pounds) beteween 'Billy's LPA Services' and 'Ripoff Solicitors LLP'. Is it like conveyancing, where using a High St solicitor generally means they give it to a secretary to do, and charge double what a conveyancing company on a through-the -letterbox flyer charges? Or is there a reason to go with the High St solicitors because things can go horribly wrong and you might need somebody to sue?

Why not just do it yourself on line with the .gov service? Well documented, the instructions take you through step by step and point out the various advantages/disadvantages of each step. £80 per LPA.

Agree with the above, do it yourself. Who are you thinking about making your attorneys? Not quite sure why you have posted this in the phones and TV board though.1

£82 per LPA. DIY. Is fairly straightforward. Just take your time to be clear on the signing sequence and who can witness which signature. You will need someone to act as certificate provider who has known you for at least two years but isn't related to or in a relationship with you or any of the attorneys (I'm assuming the LPAs are for you as the donor from the wording of your question). You will also need access to a printer. And use a black pen for the formalities.1

You need to report your own post and ask for it to be moved to the correct board (and perhaps have the thread merged with a previous one given your opening sentence).
