Confirmation C1 form rejected - executor's name differs from the will

I'm executor of a will in Scotland.  Edinburgh Sheriff Court have sent back my application for Confirmation giving this reason:

"The executor's name differs from the will to the Form C1, please clarify within your declaration."

The difference is that the will  uses my first and last names only, but on form C1 I gave my full name including middle names  (the form asks for "full name").

I was thinking of adding the following to  the declaration (box 2 on page 2)

"In said will I am named as Firstname Lastname which omits my middle names"

(I'd put in my actual name of course)

Do you think the Sheriff Court will accept this?

I think your addition to box 2 need only say:       ‘In said will I am named as [first name][second name]’

Use full name elsewhere on the form, as you state.
