Hi Im not great with technology but I pay a subscription to Miscrosoft to get OFFICE 365 to run accounts for my small farm holiday cottage business (I have looked on the MSE site & tried out the alternative office softwear that are free - but have used OFFICE 365 for so long in my employed job I much prefer it & didnt get on with the free sites mentioned) I am though going to try the OFFICE 365 version that is only available whilst online - as I only really do all my paperwork when connected to the internet at home anyway) So my question is this - if I keep with the free version - will I still get the associated security that comes with a purchased OFFICE 365 subscription direct from Microsoft??
My 2nd question is - If I do want to subscribe - I can also purchase a token code from various other companies for OFFICE 365 at a cheaper price - if i subscribe that way again will I get all the security that I would going direct through & paying the full price to Microsoft? Getting a bit twitchy with all the scams that are going on at the mo. many thanks in adavance

Arguably the security of M365 (as its now called) online version would be better than the average desktop version as clearly there is no chance of them not applying the latest security updates to their own kit whereas you could miss one etc
If you were using Office on a brand new machine that only went online once to install M365 and never went back online again then potentially that'd be more secure but you'd soon find the applications being limited as they cannot validate their license without the internet.
Buying a genuine license for M365 will give you the same protection no matter if you buy it from Microsoft, Amazon or some random other company. There are sellers that aren't offering genuine Home/Family/Small Business licenses but are providing unauthorised copies of large corporation's keys which may work for a period before they are then blocked. If it's 90% off the normal price, it's not a genuine license.0
