They will contact you 3-4 weeks before your renewal is due with their quote for you to stay with them. It's not too early to start shopping, but don't buy until you have a wider range of quotes.

I’m on a comparison site and I’m stuck as it’s asking for the total cost of a previous claim I made in 2019. I’ve tried to get this from the insurer at that time but not having any joy. it won’t let me move on until I enter this information.0

Make up a plausible number and CYA by letting whichever company you choose know that it is just a guess.
