FIT payment transfer delays after buying new home with solar panels

We purchased our house in July and immediately applied to Utility warehouse for the FIT payments using their online form (UW current FIT provider but not our energy provider).

Having contacted UW several times they have said they are experiencing delays due to having a small admin team initially told 3 month wait, one call handler suggested 6 months today! We are getting increasingly frustrated with the delay (they have reassured us several times that payments will be backdated).

Is it normal for FIT payment transfers to take this long with other companies, or indeed has anyone experienced this with UW themselves? We are aware we can transfer FIT payments to be processed by another provider, but not sure if we could that if we still aren't fully set up with our current provider.

We are happy to receive any advice or to hear the experience of others in regard to purchasing a home with FIT payment solar panels already in situ

My sympathies for having to deal with Utility Warehouse.
Utility Warehouse have a poor reputation when it comes to FIT payments. Considering how few FIT customers they have, they get a disproportionate number of complaints on this forum.
Other companies are generally (but not always) better.

I bought a property with solar panels and the associated FIT in June 2015. Once I'd sorted most other things, I got onto the FIT transfer...

Applied to transfer it into my name on 11 July 2015 with British Gas. A few emails followed back and forth, with relevant paperwork.

They successfully transfered it into my name on 31 Aug 2015.

I was switching my gas and electric to EDF, so switched my FIT too, and they switched my FIT within 72 hrs.

I've been impressed with EDF's payment process, so I've stayed with them.

They request a reading on the 1st of the month (every quarter), and I usually submit it that day. I receive my invoice / payment details a few days later, and money is in my bank account between 5th - 8th of the month.

They had a very good dedicated team, which I phoned and spoke to on a few occasions. Don't know if they still exist, but might be worth a call if they do....other companies are available.

Edited to add 1 = I used to call 0800 404 9087 which was for "The Green Hub - Feeds in Tariffs".

Edited to add 2 = some crazy typos.

I'd echo the previous comment, it's probably not beneficial to be with a very small FIT player as they have little resource and little incentive to do much about it. British Gas now seem to be very well sorted for FIT payments, my last one was paid within 5 days of submitting readings so either them or EDF would be a better option.
