Sold expensive item but buyer 'no longer registered user' with eBay - cancel sale?

Hi all.
I sold an expensive item tonight. I often check an ebay buyer's profile and when clicking their profile it's showing as 'No longer a registered user' despite the money in my account.
Don't think I've come across this before so don't want to be in the scenario I send it tomorrow RM Special Delivery then receive an ebay message in a day or two not to send it when it's obviously too late - had this before when someone had hacked someone else's a/c, tho buyer got to keep item and I received the funds after they investigated. Anyway, just a little unsure how to proceed - perhaps a call to eBayin the morning? tia.

If it is possible, I would hold on a few days before sending. When a buyer has been deregistered, Ebay will normally send you a message stating (and I've copied and pasted this):
- Don’t complete the sale or send the item to BUYER if you haven’t done so yet.
- Don’t communicate any further with BUYER, especially if they get in touch with you outside of eBay.
- If BUYER requests a payment or refund, don’t send any money without contacting eBay first. If payment was processed, a refund has not been issued yet just in case you’ve already sent the item.
- If you already sent the item, contact the carrier to find out if you can stop the delivery and have the item returned to you.
- If your listing has ended, you can relist your item.

Personally I would just ring eBay for further guidance, but the safest option would be to refund and relist.1

Thanks....I phoned ebay and was told it's up to me what to do and there's no definite answer. I normally send within a working day and the CS guy did mention if sent I'm fully covered by seller protection if it turns out to be a fraudulent purchase. It's taken months to sell and managed to make use of the 80% promo weekend so it's an annoyance to cancel. Somewhat unsure since from the horse's mouth I'm covered if I send later on.
I've noticed in the past I've had a couple of these emails from eBay after I'd sent the items out (these were under £50) and money in the bank without having to issue any form of evidence or anything.0
