Scottish Power EV Tariff

Anyone got any info on this. I get stuck in an endless loop of logging in and asking for a quote and never get anywhere.
Seems the night-time rate is 7.5p which would be good for me and charging batteries but do you actually need to have an EV on sign-up or can you get one later? ;)
16 Panel (250W JASolar) 4kWp, facing 170 degrees, 40 degree slope, Solis Inverter. Installed 29/9/2015 - £4700 (Norfolk Solar Together Scheme); 9.6kWh US2000C Pylontech batteries + Solis Inverter installed 12/4/2022 Year target (PVGIS-CMSAF) = 3880kWh - Installer estimate 3452 kWh:Average over 6 years = 4400 :j

Does it allow home appliances during cheap hours, If not EDF 8p kWh allows home appliances 5 hours a night, all vehicles/charge points.

How could it not unless they put in a 2nd meter?

Some EV tariffs use metering from a smart charge point. Only EV kWh are charged at the cheap rate.

Interesting, which providers do this then?

It has now become common for EV tariffs to include home appliance use during cheap charging hours, in not too distant past from what I read Octopus were relatively unique, Scottish Power do not appear to mention whether can  hence me making comment I did.  :)

Not clear from these documents whether you MUST have an EV either. You MUST have a SM and SHOULD have an EV charger. Can see no mention of daytime pricing either.

Although its not strictly its own tariff, but an add-on.

More expensive than others at 10p/kWh for EV, but has the benefit of the standard rate during the day, as opposed to an increased rate for that tariffs that give a better deal overnight. I suspect it will only be a better deal for lower-mileage EV car owners.

    Very limited charger support too.

OVO Charge anytime down to 7p kWh from 1 November
  • Rheumatoid is absolutely correct. You just go round and round in circles trying to get any sense from SP.
It is really annoying. SP advertise that they have an EV tariff available to existing customers, yet when you login to your account, they will not show it. The chat line is hopeless, because they don’t know why existing customers cannot see it.
