Child benefit and children from another marriage

Hello forum, I am due to take a new role over £60k which will mean we need to let HMRC know ..
However my wife has a child from a previous relationship which she also claims child benefit for .. will she need to stop this claim also?

Why would she need to stop the claim 🤔.

The High Income Child Benefit Charge is based on adjusted net income so simply earning over £60k doesn't necessarily mean any Child Benefit will be paid back.

And even if ANI was going to mean 100% needed to be paid back you (she) can still continue to receive it and pay it back later, it doesn't have to be stopped now.

The charge applies to you as a couple.
