in Credit cards
Reading some info about AMEX on HfP, it seems that multiple cards with them (from differing categories) is allowed, however, has anyone successfully applied for 2 at the same time (one after the other on same day).
I'm looking to make use of the additional membership rewards and £70 cashback via TopCashback for the Preferred Rewards Gold card (£0 fee for first year) and the BA Classic Card (using link from a friend who then benefits from rewards points.
Be interested to know if anyone has been successful without having to wait say 6 months+

If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

This is beyond the scope of your question but I'd encourage you to think about not going for the BA Classic Card - take either the Amex Rewards credit card (which would be equally eligible/ineligible for your friend to get referrals on), has the same rate if you want to earn Avios but the added flexibility of being able to exchange for other things should you need; or take the Barclaycard Avios free card which earns the same but is a Mastercard so accepted more widely.
The main reason for this is that the free BA card blocks you from earning a bonus on the Premium BA card for 24 months, and those can be lucrative (even discounting the fee). No other card does.

Try phoning them, I did when I wanted to cancel a card to avoid the annual fee and ended up with 2 cards (separate accounts) and no annual fee. I've always found their customer service to be helpful.1

Thanks, I've got the BC Avios (free) card but ultimately the Amex is more 'rewarding'....even taking in to account the annual fee. Although anymore than £195 fee per year wouldn't make sense for my level of usage (circa. £12k per year on CC spend).
I would definitely prioritise the preferred rewards card due to the current offer over the free BA Classic card for now.
Need to be a little careful/sensible as looking to obtain a mortgage in / around June 2024.
