Car Insurance Claim on Windshield replacement

Hi,
Last year I had a windshield replaced as it was cracked by a chip. It was done by Autoglass and my insurer at the time mentioned it will not affect my NCD so I claimed through them.
I now have a different insurer. I am not sure but when getting a quote from price comparison I might have selected 'did not make any claims' as I assumed that windshield replacement would not count, which reading a bit more into it is not true. My current policy expires end of December so little less than 2 months.
My options are:
1. Notify my insurance agent now, let them know I missed or misunderstood this (which is true) and see what they say. The risk is they may cancel my policy which would make it difficult/expensive to get a new policy.
2. Get a new insurance policy sooner than expiration term. I would have to pay administrative charges and would likely lose this years NCB. Right now my policy annual policy expires end of December.
3. Wait until my policy expires then when getting a new policy declare the windshield replacement claim. The risk here is if I do have an accident and/or claim my insurance policy may be void and claim not paid out.
I am really not trying to scam my insurer just misunderstood the no-claims when selecting new policy form.
Thanks

A windscreen claim has always be shown on my insurance as not affecting NCD, so I'm surprised at that. If nothing else it does help raise awareness of the importance of reading the documents thoroughly. (Not something I have always done in the past).

Why do you think it affects your NCD?0

I don’t think it affects my NCD I am
afraid my Insurer voids the policy as I might have said no to previous claims and windshield is a claim. Just looking for best way to rectify going forward (or maybe I am reading too mych into it)0 -

I phones my insurance company, told them of the wineshield claim. They updated the policy no additional premium.2
