ULEZ charges in error: more than two-thirds of mine are wrong!

    I too have fallen victim to this sting after setting up auto-pay upon its Greater London launch in Aug 2023.

    After being charged twice in Jan this year but knowing my car was and still is off the road. I logged on and it showed two different plates with included my 4 digit private plate (5* P*) within theirs. So two letters before and another letter at the end, just like a regular plate. 

    I downloaded a statement and to my horror showed 89 entries between its launch and Friday (14th Feb 25) at a total cost of £1112.50. However only 41 of these are mine. Not only do I keep a casual diary but also my office  (in the ULEZ zone) CCTV is available going back to 2020 and this mirrored my diary entries that I wasnt at work on those 48 days which has resulted in an overcharging total of £600.

    I called ULEZ who were quite rude about it to be honest, despite me going into the call very calm, and the agent basically said we can "TRY" to organise a refund for the 2 incorrect entries in January as there's photographic evidence on our website showing these charges are not related to your car. But the worst part was when she said unfortuntely we only store the photographs on our website for around 90 days and therefore any incorrect charges beyond 90 days would not be considered for a refund, even if I had supporting evidence to the contrary!

    I am shocked to say the least that they will not even consider refunding me after I've clearly been charged a total of £600 for other peoples cars which have no connection to myself. Just outrageous.

    Same issue here.
    Since signing up in September 2023, I have been mis-charged 10 times.  Two of those have been for the same car and the numberplate is clearly fully visible in one of the pictures each time.  Even when they have identified another numberplate wrong but as a different numberplate to mine, they have still stuck it on my bill!  Good job I thought to start checking.  I have a black car and have been charged for a White Ford Transit (that one they identified as AB12CFG rather than AB12CDE whereas my numberplate would be 2CDG in this makeup so not even close to either version!), a Silver Merc, a Blue Honda amongst others.
    And, what is this ridiculous excuse of them only storing the images for 90 days when they know the system is seriously flawed?
