Amazon delivery not arrived, CS no help

I ordered a white goods item, so not something small that’s easily lost, which was due to be delivered yesterday. Tracking never updated after it left the Amazon facility on Thursday evening to make it’s way overnight to the delivery station 40 miles away. After waiting in all day yesterday I had the 5pm email saying that it was delayed in transit.

It now says it’s expected today but if it doesn’t arrive then I can return to the page for a refund tomorrow. I haven’t had an out for delivery notification yet and it’s gone 3pm so I’m doubtful that it’ll come.

I’ve been on live chat to see if they can see where it is as tracking stopped for me at 5pm yesterday and the advisor was less than useless. He said it would arrive, a few minutes later he said he didn’t know if it would, and if it doesn’t come by tomorrow night I could get a refund after November 10th which contradicts what the tracking page states. He said that’s not right as it would need investigating and a refund wouldn’t be issued until November 10th.

Yesterday I spoke to an advisor after they’d waited until 5pm to let me know that there was a problem and he said he had credited my account with £10 for the inconvenience. That hasn’t happened so I’ve spoken to another advisor about that today who couldn’t find any record of the chat yesterday, I had the name of the advisor but that made no difference, and that I’m not eligible for any compensation anyway.

I’d be tempted to leave it till Monday and see if it arrives over the weekend or not before doing anything else.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Who is delivering it ?  In my area it is ArrowXL that do the large items and once it is their hands Amazon have no control over what is happening.

No idea, there’s no further information on the tracking after it left the facility in Bardon, Leics to go to a delivery depot in the early hours of yesterday. I asked on live chat but apparently there was no destination showing on their system either.
  • Just to update, it’s still not here although tracking updated at. 4.56am on Monday to say that the transit issue had been resolved and it would be delivered on the 1st. Since then it’s been to Westhoughton (Greater Manchester) before going a bit further north to Rochdale. I’m near Birmingham.
At 5pm today it updated again with another delay in transit. A further update a few minutes ago has it at St Helens in Merseyside.

I suppose the only thing to take into account is the fact there has been some pretty severe flooding and bad weather over the last few days and that may well be causing problems in logistics
  • If you do get it make sure you check it over immediately before they leave as it looks like it's done a lot of travelling and therefore at greater risk of damage

I had an item where the tracking showed it at a depot  260 miles away from my address.  then it showed 'out for delivery'.

I reported this to Amazon and was immediately refunded.

I ordered  from another through Amazon but from a different retailer- still fulfilled by Amazon.

Both parcels arrived together. the original nox being  rather battered

Amazon sent me a prepaid label to return that one.
