Boiler cupboard gone!

Part of the Furniture First Post Combo Breaker
I've had a 15yo boiler -in a-cupboard which a well rated local company said would a lot to replace parts (and even the original makers told them the fault might not be remedied), so I asked for a replacement boiler quote for one to fit into the existing, wall hung cupboard. The assessor said that there was a boiler designed to fit in this sized cupboard which would be suitable for my property and number of radiators having measured everything up- but that they would have to take the cupboard off the wall to get the old boiler out/ replacement boiler in. The quote didn't mention the cupboard at all, but I presumed that given the discussion around the site, size and location of boiler this was a given. Well, the boiler went in but when it came to rehanging the cupboard the side panel supporting the cabinet wouldn't fit, as they changed the flue they'd brought with them to install for a different one. It would have been possible to lop a bit of the side of the cabinet, but the frame that went around the soil stack next to the flue wouldn't now fit with the new flue installed.  I've now been left with a new boiler but with all pipes exposed, original plasterwork and the corner metal mesh below the new flue bent out of place - plus an assortment of cupboard pieces....
I accept I was stupid not to get them to clarify that they might not be able to replace the cupboard (but with the flue and the boiler apparently planned to fit into the space allocated, there was no mention of this possibility from the assessor for the company).
The unit is a beech veneer which isn't that popular now, but I do have the bits and pieces so perhaps a local joiner can use some parts (like the door, and plain side panel) to reassemble and make good. The cost online for a boiler cabinet seems to be around £150-£240.
my question is - can I ask the company to perhaps adjust their bill to reflect this additional cost I now have to make good the plasterwork/ cupboard etc? Or should I have assumed that although I was insistent all along I needed the boiler to remain hidden in the cupboard given my small kitchen, I don''t have any rights if they can't rehang it?

I think we are in the realms of "We aren't carpenters, but we'll try and fit the boiler inside the cupboard as before" - but with no guarantee?
There's a good chance that a handyperson will be able to sort something out with what you currently have, and it shouldn't cost much.
Would you like to post a photo showing the issue?
Oh, unless it was made very clear that the job included having the boiler re-boxed, then I'm not sure you have a case for a discount. Unless the reason it no longer fits is due to a mess-up by them? Was the flue issue avoidable?
Someone I know had a new Ideal boiler fitted, with the old one neatly - but tightly - sitting inside a conventional wall unit. The plumber said he'd try and refit the unit back over the new boiler, but couldn't be certain. I was on 'standby' in case he couldn't. I haven't had a call, and it was a couple of years ago, so I guess he managed...
