I have used an eBay one with Torque. My problem is a spanner 🔧 on the dashboard. Torque does not find any faults, but if I clear the faults, the spanner 🔧 disappears for around five seconds and then comes back.
    Not sure why that is.
The spanner symbol on a Ford dash is the service indicator.  It doesn't indicate a fault.  You can do an internet search on how to reset it.

I thought that but Google suggests on Fords it's a power train fault, whatever that is.

Yes I think some later, more modern cars use the Spanner light to indicate a drivetrain fault rather than a engine fault.

Things like modern automatic gearboxes and 4x4 systems run on their own ECU's so can have a different warning light on the dash.

There can often be a text warning message on the dash as well telling you that power has been restricted and take it to the dealer.
