Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
Damp start here, yesterday was a nasty wet day.
Today I'm going back to the Metrocentre, I ended up there on Wednesday after dithering about going there or Newcastle. Anyway, I bought a cardigan in M&S but I'm going to change it for another one. I think the buses are on strike again indefinitely, from tomorrow so will go today. The car is going in today for its expensive repair, and don't know if it will be completed today. Dh will take it up for 8.30 when they open.
Where do I go for this face ironing, wonder if there's anywhere at the Metrocentre?
Not much else happening here.
Coxy , glad your dd has found a job, even a temp job is better than nothing.
Hope everyone has a good day, thoughts to our poorlies - Coxy's dad, Topsy's son and anyone else.
Take care folks.10 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Another gloomy and foggy morning in store. It's always such depressing weather at this time of year.
My plans for a deep cleaning of kitchen and bathroom yesterday came to nowt! I was getting organised when my df in Oz rang. We were chatting for 2 hours!! By then it was nearing lunchtime so I postponed the job until after lunch. My phone rang again and it was DB. We were on about an hour. By then I had lost the will to start cleaning so got my feet up and watched catch up on tv instead!! So the job will have to be incorporated into the Friday Tidy today.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all the poorlies and poorly loved ones. Take care all, be safe xx

My kind of day TA! Better people than cleaning. It's murky outside, can't see any chance of the sun coming out. The north east of Scotland is still having heavy rain, we may have only a little though the effects of 07 Oct are not yet fixed. This morning I'm off for my hair cut and colour, it's almost at the end of the peninsula so takes over an hour to get to. Sometimes the drive is glorious but I doubt it'll be that todsy. It's been just over a year since I started having my hair coloured and I'm now 'trapped' into the cycle of it.9

Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
Not good news from Stepmum - unfortunately DDad's tumour is an aggressive cancer. Hoping to find out today what the course of action will be. We still went to the cinema - Killers of the Flower Moon - long, violent in parts - I only nodded off twice!
Shame your tutor is going @Gers - do they have a back up plan so you can keep going? Your cakes sound lovely x
Gosh @-taff - slow down - you're making me giddy with all your errands! Is any size sewing box ever big enough...asking for a friend....
I'm at DSis' tonight for a JoGLE fundraiser so need to eat early, pick up my friend and drive down. It's a nice easy mushroom risotto tonight.
Have a good day all

Morning everyone it’s a gloomy day here off to do my volunteering at the bread and butter thing before work last day of the week it won’t be to bad as when I went in yesterday the bosses wife isn’t coming in the rest of the week as she’s in bed bad or in other words after she has spoken to me about retirement she’s taken the higg well that suits me fine I would rather she was at home in one of her moods than torturing me with her tales of woe . Coxy so sorry about your DDad what awful news Scarlet I hope the car bill isn’t to bad Gers I’m not ready to go grey yet I’m lucky I only get a few but I stick a colour on every now and again to cover them although one off my friends has let hers go grey and it looks lovely. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Hi everyone
Busy week here and not over yet. I have a rainbow cake to make for Esben's party tomorrow, wish me luck.
Sis in law goes home today, it was a good visit. We went down to Poole to see ancient relatives (not really related, she was married to Steve's mum's cousin but still close). We had a horrendous journey back on the M25 but stopped at a pub in Harefield and had a meal until the traffic cleared. Steve used to work at Stockley Park near Heathrow so knows all the ways to avoid various bits of the M25.
Yesterday we went to see Crystal and Nate and Chris got home by 6 so we were able to have a meal with them. Working in Peterborough has made such a difference for him, he gets to see Nate before bed and has joined a local badminton club. He was a County player as a teenager so soon gets back into the swing of things.
Coxy, I'm sorry about your dad. I hope there is a suitable treatment.
TA, don't overdo it.
Have a good day.10 -
Hello again. Just to say I was saddened by COXY's news on her DDad. I hope everything is being done to keep him comfortable and pain free xx
Safe drive to the hairdressers GERS. I have been in the hair dying loop since I was in my teens when it went through various drastic colours! Nowadays I stick to a more suitable shade for my advanced years but wonder how much longer I can keep dying it! I can tell by the roots it would now be totally white but I don't feel ready to look in the mirror and see myself all over white just yet!

I can tell by the roots it would now be totally white but I don't feel ready to look in the mirror and see myself all over white just yet!My late DDad's hair was pure white, however he used Brylcreem on it so it looked much darker. My late DMum had silvery grey hair whilst mine is just grey. I thought it really aged me until I realised my age!Until last year I had never used any products on my hair apart from shampoo / conditioner so getting the colour put on was a real game-changer for me. I always said that as I couldn't see it the colour didn't matter much. Now, of course, it's different and I feel better with the metal grey hidden. Even those awful purple shampoos didn't make it look any nicer.
You had a busy time snoozer - hope that you can rest a bit today.

Morning all
Dull and raining here and according to the weather is going to rain for about two weeks ☔️ Hopefully it will prevent too many fireworks going off as little dog is terrified of them and big dog barks the place down in fright.
Day off for me and I am going to get my nails done later my finger is very nearly healed now so should be ok. OH has the day off too so hopefully he will walk the dogs later.
Not sure about dinner tonight we will maybe get a takeaway it’s been a while since we had one.
Wm is doing its thing but it will have to be hung indoors today.
Coxy so sorry to hear about your dad hopefully they will be able to offer some treatment xxx
A friend at my ex work used to have the most beautiful dark brown hair and one day she came in with her roots showing ( I never knew it was not natural) and she slowly let it grow out she now has beautiful silver white hair but I can understand it’s a big step to take.
Have good days all and take care xx9
