Gumtree email fault - check your old emails

Just been speaking to Gumtree (online chat) as, although my log-in is an old email, my settings contain my up to date email. I suddenly started getting Gumtree posting confirmations to the old email address.
They have admitted a technical fault where all emails are being sent to the original registration/log in email and the only way to stop this is to re-register for a new account using current email. They don't have a timescale for the fix.
Since the majority of the responses I get from there are either scams or brain dead "is it still available" messages, maybe time to move elsewhere.
