Got a 10x8 shiplap shed, in last weeks storms, somehow, water appeared inside on one wall from about 2ft from the top, couldnt tell if it was a joint issue (shiplap) or the wood was porous, it came "tantalised" 2 years ago, the other 3 walls remained dry. Thinking should I waterproof it, clad it, paint it...

strange thing is, there is a 5ft fence close to the shed wall yet it didnt stop the water but above the fence level the inside of the shed was dry

If the timber is just tanalised, the treatment will slow the rotting process but won't stop water soaking through the wood if it's wet for a long period. You'd need to prime and paint the wood with something like cuprinol garden colours.

Even then, driving rain may always find a way through a single skin structure
  • next job....Cuprinol and sprayer...
    maybe then a waterproofer

Do you have guttering on the shed ? Without it all the water running off the roof can get blown onto the wall.....more likely in a storm with high winds.

......and if you have guttering it can overflow in heavy rain onto the wall.

That suggests to me that heavy prolonged rain running off the shed roof, hitting the fence and bouncing back onto the shed wall. No single skinned timber wall will withstand that. It was a storm, doesn't happen often, move on, it'll be another few years before it happens again.
