    I'd make sure that you tell them that you are the administrator in any communication.. 

    At one stage (last year?), people were involving their MP with good effect.

    Thanks for this, I will try again. I contacted my MP yesterday after reading similar advice on a solicitors’ forum.
  • Thanks for your help everyone. Just wanted to update and tie up this thread…I contacted my MP and copied the Probate Office into my email. Probate was granted five days later, before my MP had even replied.
