I have Facebook on my android phone and on my Chromebook, but am not at all up to speed with it. As things are, if I put a post on a local group and somebody comments on it, I get a red dot on the bell thing at top right, which goes when I click on it. I also get notified on the Chromebook by a pop-up in the bottom LH of whatev er I have open. I don't seem to get any other notifications, but that's never bothered me.
However, a local charity now has a Facebook page and I would like to keep aware of developments. It is a page, not a "group" if that makes sense. I am a "follower" of it, and I have made it a "Favourite". Under "follow settings. notifications" , "content" is set to standard and all these setting have been updated.
Should I get a notification when the charity puts something new on their page?

Not on the page, no. That's what your home feed is for.If it were a group you should get notifications. Key word: Should. What you should get and what you do get on those are two entirely different things.2

Sorry to jump on your thread but as you've brought up the topic of Facebook can someone explain this....
You go to the comments on something - a post on a group page for example. Someone has made a comment & then that comment has 50 replies. You click to expand/view them ...... but none of them load. The thing you click just disappears.
Why? Why doesn't it bring up the replies as you've asked it to?0 -

Why? Why doesn't it bring up the replies as you've asked it to?Usually because Facebook defaults to "Most relevant" for comments which is intended to filter out spam and what not, which often has the effect of filtering the whole thread out.Or the posters who wrote the comments you can't see has set their privacy so that unless you're friends with them, you can't see what they wrote.More the latter than the former though.0
