Thanks for this.Coupon-mad said:So your case is different from others we see and you won't get your £275 fee back.
I didn't realise your situation. Just re-read your OP. This approach is very risky and I want you to know this:
You are at significant risk of not getting the CCJ set aside. I am not sure your track record of ignoring every letter will help convince a Judge that suddenly the one important letter just didn't arrive.
A Judge will probably think you ignored it too.
You then would be stuck with a CCJ for 6 years.
This worries me:I can’t afford to have a CCJ registered on my credit file. You will have a CCJ later this month, if you don't settle it.
Did you realise that applying to set aside the CCJ doesn't freeze the CCJ? It lands with a crash on your credit file in a couple of weeks.
It pains me to say this:
You may want to consider contacting DCBLegal and offering £200 to settle it. See where that gets you. As long as you pay whatever their client will agree to accept within 30 days of the CCJ date, it's gone.I will just pay the £352 then (the ccj is showing on my credit file now) if I pay the £352 do I then have to pay the £275 to set it aside? Or pay a fee to get it off my credit file?0 -
If you pay the amount on the judgment before the date set by that judgment, it should never actually show up on your credit file. It is worrying that you say it is already there. Been back through the thread and cannot find where/if you have posted the date by which you have to pay, although you do give a date in October (23rd?) so assume pay be November 23rd. check the Order.

The judgement in default is dated 16 October 2023. I’ve just reread the small print at the bottom and it does say if I pay in full within one month I can ask the court to cancel the entry on the register. And there’s no fee to do this?Le_Kirk said:If you pay the amount on the judgment before the date set by that judgment, it should never actually show up on your credit file. No there's no fee.
So you don't want to try first to negotiate a lower settlement then?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I rang DCBLegal today and they said they wouldn’t be able to accept that now as there are court costs incurred so it would have to be the £352 that’s paid in full.Coupon-mad said:No there's no fee.
