Car Insurance Refund

My car insurance starts in the 8th November, I did the searches and chose Churchill on the 16th October and paid for the year in full. When cancelling my previous insurer, they offered me an even better deal with more perks so I took that with the aim to cancel Churchill. I cancelled Churchill within an hour of paying them by contacting their WhatsApp chat and they agreed it was cancelled and promised email proof within 7 days. By Sunday there was no news so I messaged again and got the same answers, promising money back in 5-7 days. Today I decided to call and it appears it was only cancelled from the 8th November, so not for another 2 weeks. I pushed for my money back now under the 14 day money back guarantee and have now been promised money in 3-5 days and an email in 10 minutes. They’ve had my money a week and a half and I don’t feel confident I’m getting it back soon, what can I do?

So you bought from a new insurer (Churchill/CH) on the 16th October... when was the CH policy to incept? 8th November presumably?
Assuming the new CH policy was to start on the 8th it's natural that the effective date of the cancellation is also the 8th.
You don't have a 14 day money back guarantee, you have a statutory 14 day cancellation period, they are perfectly entitled to charge an administration charge and for any time on cover during the cancellation period.0 -
You have to wait for your refund on 3-5 days. You cannot do anything about it not arriving until it has not arrived.0
