Can anyone help with what could be the issue with my Community Fibre router? Tried resetting the black modem and white cube. 2 green lights on the black box but in the middle a red and red light on the white cube
Called CF who said an engineer needs to visit and it's probably an external issue (other neighbors in different buildings do not have any problems) and can only come around next Tues! Horrendous given I need to WFH

Horrendous given I need to WFHCan't see whatever it is you've linked to, it just goes to your Gmail which nobody else will be able to see.According to https://help.communityfibre.co.uk/troubleshooting/wifi-and-broadband-troubleshooting/i-have-no-internet this may be a broken fibre cable. As for "can only come around next Tues! Horrendous given I need to WFH", then maybe you're on the wrong package because residential customers sit at the back of the queue for issues. https://communityfibre.co.uk/legal-stuff - "We provide the Services and Equipment solely for private and domestic use by you (and, if applicable, members of your household). You must not use the Services or Equipment for commercial or business purposes."
If you need urgent resolutions you really should be on a business package. Yes it'll cost more money but you' get dibs on repairs.

The instructions do suggest that you can try unplugging the optical cable from the terminal unit (the white box) and brushing it it gently with a cotton bud (DO NOT LOOK INTO THE END TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY LIGHT - its invisible so you cant see it anyway and it can damage your eyes)
If that doesn't work then its possible that the optical tail or splice has become damaged and it has to be diagnosed by an engineer with the correct optical test and splicing equipment you cannot fix it yourself.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Was thinking along the same lines as Neil. But I would add if it is important I.e. for your work and missing it is a big issue....then you should consider a backup for all parts that may fail such as all hardware, comms, software and data.In this respect a semi decent backup for comms. might be fine using mobile data to be a comms link to WiFi (hot spot) via snart phone to laptop/ PC ......0
