stu12345_2 said:in the CCA letters I wrote I gave the creditors choices.i told them to state the words unenforceable if the cant find the CCA.
state the word enforceable if they find paperwork but paperwork must state my name and address when account opened
.the creditors name and address when account opened
the terms and conditions at that time with Apr when I have to make payments and cancellation rights.
and any other documents that were mentioned in the terms and conditions
if they can't find everyone of those criteria they must state the word unenforceable.
as sending a pile of paperwork without all those sections and stated enforceable is misleading and an offence0 -
off to post office to send my last two CCA letters to tiny debts.send the big CCA letters last week recorded delivery.royal mail showed them tracked and signed for !!
I put a cheque for £1 in each letter with my name and consumer debt account number on the back
here's hoping I get good replies but all should state on hold in initial replies from them.Christians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )

Morning everyone. I have received a letter from PRA Group, they returned my £1 postal order. It says they will place my account on hold while they look for the CCA I have requested. I think I know the answer but I should stop payments for now shouldn't I?
It feels alien to stop paying! I keep telling myself they have made quite a lot of money from me compared to their original investment of buying the debt but I suppose I just need to change my mindset to stop feeling guilty!

Guilt is what they count on to get payment from people, you soon start to feel in control when you stop paying.

Hi everyone
Just an update, I have received the copy of the CCA today through the post from PRA, I am gutted! I was really hoping they couldn't find it but they have, signed in 2006! I really don't want to carry on paying them £100 per month (my actual arrangement with them is to pay £80 per month). I can just about afford the £100 but I am torn, now I know they could take action against me I just want to pay the debt off. Should I continue to pay the £100 or pay less and try and save up for a final offer? I have heard though that they are not very generous with their final offers and I owe £10,300 so it would take ages to save up anyway. So I am veering towards just paying the £80 per month I initially agreed with them.
As an aside, I was very annoyed when the letter arrived as they had used a window envelope but had not aligned the papers properly inside so the amount I owed and other details were clearly visible through the window so now my postie knows about my circumstances. I am definitely going to complain to them about that, very sloppy.0 -
first are you 100% sure the CCA they sent is legit and accurate and has all the legal requirements that you requested.
you can choose to pay whatever you want a month.you just change the standing order amount it all boils down to how fast you want the debt gone.
you have paid over half all your debt with all creditors.is there any creditors that will soon be paid off so you then can chuck more towards PRa.
was there any other CCA letters you requested apart from pra?
are all your other debts still enforceable?
don't worry about postman ,they go to 500 homes a day and don't care.i was a postman.it is probably the way the letter was folded in the automated mailroom in pra.Christians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )

Yes it was the only CCA I requested, my only other debt is with Nationwide and they have never sold it on so I assumed they would still have the CCA.
I think I will put my standing order to £80 for now, my agreement with PRA.
Thanks for putting my mind at rest about the postman!0 -
I have done CCA requests with original lenders that haven't sold my debts on awaiting results. I suppose once nationwide debt is paid you can chuck more to pra,or are both debts designed to end at same time on plan.
I would still suggest uploading what pra sent you as some moderators may be able to inspect what they sent you
just blank off your name and address.
did the cca come with all the terms and conditions interest rates .your correct name and address etcChristians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )

Yes Nationwide will end much sooner than PRA so I will have extra at some point. I have had a proper look and the CCA does indeed have the interest rate, the t&cs and my correct details. What a shame!
From what I've read, PRA are pretty stingy with final offers too but that will be my next aim, see what I can save to make them an offer.0
