Car Subscription Service (Drive Fuze) & 3rd Party Excess Insurance

I want 3rd party excess insurance before I proceed with the car subscription service Drive Fuze.

Drive Fuze have confirmed they satisfy a couple of key definitions I shared with them from the Leisure Guard excess insurance policy wording - namely:
  • that their contract is a Hire Agreement "as we provide the vehicle for a defined period of time (1 month)", and;
  • "Is Drive Fuze a company licensed to operate and provide vehicles for hire in the territory it is located in, which provides you with the vehicle under the hire agreement?": Yes, we are.
But the insurers are turning their nose up at the term "subscription" and saying subscription companies are excluded.

icarhire is saying that subscription companies fall under their exclusion: "any loan vehicle or vehicle leased by You". I have asked them to get me a formal definition of "loan vehicle or vehicle leased by [me]", and awaiting a response.

Leisure Guard, I can call again but I want to get a rock solid position when I do call them back. At the moment, I'm calling with a strong feeling that it should be covered, and speaking to an agent who doesn't know the finer details / specifics of "Drive Fuze".

So the question is: What can I ask for, and what can I press on, to both challenge the generic position of "we don't cover car subscription companies" and to get an iron clad assurance that I'll be covered if I proceed?

(For some further context: I believe that excess insurance policies are excluding "subscription" companies like Turo and Hiyacar, for example, because another company specifically gave these company names as examples. Drive Fuze is effectively doing rolling 31-day hires, and as I said "they are licensed to operate and provide vehicles for hire" -- very different concepts to Hiyacar and Turo.)

    I think you will struggle to argue that each month is a separate period of hire, even if you can get them comfortable it is a hire car not a lease car, given you keep the same vehicle, don't sign a new contract and indeed need to give 14 days notice to cancel otherwise will be charged the following months money.

    With it being a continuous hire (or lease) you will fall foul of the maximum duration of hire in a Car Hire Excess Policy.
