Ambiguous Parking Charges - Dovecot Euro Car Park, High Wycombe

We stayed overnight in High Wycombe for a friends party and were suggested parking here. Arrived 4.30pm Saturday, departed 12pm Sunday. Tariffs are: //kchw.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Tariff-for-Dovecot-from-25th-Sept.pdf
Maybe I'm being stupid but we were expecting to be charged £1.50 for the 2 hours to take us to the 'overnight rate' of £1, then £1 for the all day Sunday charge. On exit at the Pay Station the charge was £28! I have used other car parks where in the 'olden days' you'd feed money into the meter and if you go over into the night charge the time on the ticket automatically goes to the latest time for the money put in. Had we had the prepayment option before, we might have realised that we'd misread the charges. Do you think we have a case to claim for some kind of refund. Thanks

Complain to ECP (see their complaints policy) and then to the BPA if you like banging your head against a brick wall! The parking industry is known to be an 'outrageous scam' (even MPs say so).
Why didn't you just park on-street? Free! Overnight parking is always free in all towns and cities where bay restrictions have ended usually by 6pm.
Before visiting any town, look on Google Streetview in advance, where to park on street. Read the signs in the virtual drive along and note the roads you are aiming for.
I'd never use a car park at night. No need.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for coming back. Normally I do look for free parking but as it was going to less than £5 (or so I thought!) and we were staying at the Travelodge opposite I decided it would be ok. Also the venue was town centre so very little free street parking if any and we arrived at 4.30pm well before the 6pm free street time.Coupon-mad said:Complain to ECP (see their complaints policy) and then to the BPA if you like banging your head against a brick wall! We did write an email on Sunday to Euro Car Parks setting out our understanding of the charges and to my surprise we received an email back yesterday saying they will process a refund! RESULT!UncleThomasCobley said:Have you read the Newbies/FAQ thread? Have you tried Plan A?2 -
