Well if you are away travelling for 8 weeks, you CLEARLY need to ask for the 30 day hold!
You are someone who needs that delay. Not that you tell Gladstones why. DON'T. And CLEARLY you want communication by email if possible. Surprised you even suggested wanting 'post only' while you are away.
No, surely not. Get some breathing space.
Have you primed the people who are at home to OPEN YOUR POST BUT NOT PANIC AND PAY? It's vital you hear about the court claim as soon as it arrives because you can then acknowledge it, even if you are away.
TELL THEM NOT TO PAY, EVEN IF A COURT CLAIM ARRIVES. JUST EMAIL YOU A SCAN OF THE FRONT PAGE. IT'S ALL YOU NEED.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks - the deadline set by their letter is 30 days from the 11th October (letter only arrived today!) so I’m assuming November 10th.Coupon-mad said:Well if you are away travelling for 8 weeks, you CLEARLY need to ask for the 30 day hold!Would I be safe to stall my email until closer to the time to maximise my 30 days?? I should be back home by mid December.Someone will be home and advised regarding the post!
I’ve just been to take pictures of the site before I leave tomorrow.Below is where I entered (no signage).
This is the actual entrance on the other side which I didn’t see (or use) until now.
Close up of the sign.
Signage on the site. The blue staff ones I did see, but as it was 8pm at night & everything was closed & as empty as in the pictures. And I wasn’t leaving the vehicle either, or even stopping the engine! I assumed it was fine.

Wow those signs are designed to be hidden in darkness aren't they? Dirty black & tan colour. Appalling! Certainly not prominent.
Yes as long as you don't forget, ideally diarise a calendar alert to send the email asking for a 30 day hold during the first week of November, before 10th.
Expect a claim over Xmas. They love that. Every year they do that to people.
But no worries! You are ready for it and you know there is no CCJ risk as long as you don't ignore a claim.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I certainly didn’t see them (and there was no signage at all at the ‘exit-entrance’ I used) & certainly wouldn’t have entered the site had I known it was cowboy territory!Coupon-mad said:Wow those signs are designed to be hidden in darkness aren't they? Certainly not prominent.I’ve set a reminder on my phone a few days before the 10th to email them my request for the 30day hold.Is there anything I can do at this stage to stop things progressing further by better wording a rebuttal?? I’ll have more time in a couple of days to properly read into anything I need in order to form a rebuke. I just couldn’t find anything earlier today with the time I had.Look how awful the pictures are they supplied! Thanks again everyone for the advice.

You could add that the only parking related sign that was prominent from a car driving in the exit was a blue and white HBOS plc one with large lettering relating to staff parking bays. This sign did not affect a driver who was passing through and didn't actually park, but it does mean that the only parking contract visibly on offer was from HBOS plc, not Parallel Parking, who are mere agents with no locus. Where a sign discloses the principal, any claim could be from the principal but not the agent.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I wouldn't talk about entering the car park via the exit.
Just say something like 'there were no appropriate signs at the entrance used' - or whatever you want to say but using the words 'entrance used' instead.2 -
Hi again, it’s 5 days from my 30day LBC ‘response’ window so I’m going to email Gladstone crooks now. With regards to the above, is it worth attaching the image I’ve taken of the ‘entrance’ I used that has no signage on it??Or at this stage, just verbally affirm that there was no signage visible?
Thanks for the help.0 -
You could attach that. Expect a court claim anyway but expect to win.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
