I like having a weekly list to help guide my week, so here's a couple of things I've thought of...
- Crochet all the pieces for the doll I'm making - then will sew together next week
- Progress crochet blanket
- Check price for pooch's operation
- Continue Christmas shopping
- Start working out annual spends (e.g. how much has been spent on takeaways from my personal spends)
Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £6,450.00
Total paid off - £9,150.89 (58% paid off)2 -
Had a great time climbing with bf last night! However, we were naughty and picked up a takeaway on the way home. Need to be more prepared if we go again and have something quick we can make when we get back! I do feel like last night was quite an accurate representation of me... climbing up walls and then sitting under a blanket doing crochet when I got home! It costs £12.50 for climbing and then £3 shoe hire - but if it's something we really get into, we can get monthly passes and I looked on Vinted this morning and you can get climbing shoes second hand for as little as £5. Worth considering if we go regularly but will wait and see if it's a hobby that sticks!
Most of the Christmas presents that I've ordered have now arrived - I've been keeping a record in my spreadsheet of what I've ordered and if it's arrived yet so I don't lose track of anything! (Plus helps with planning!) I want to try and get bf some football tickets that go on sale at 10am - wish me luck! It's done in points drops so will need to see what is still available! This morning I dropped the trainers off at the parcel shop to ensure that I get the refund asap!
Oh I also spent a bit of time yesterday working out a "crochet schedule" and it's looking like I *should* be able to get everything done in time! It does mean ensuring I spend some time every day getting things progressed, including in the evenings. Fingers crossed I've calculated everything correctly!
Today's bots and bobs...- Make lunch to take to work
- Drop return off on way in
- Update spreadsheet
- Work on crochet present at lunch
- Pop to town on way home to pick something up
- Go food shopping with bf (will split bill)
- Snap receipt
- Dinner from stores

Grrr missed the tickets! Well I missed the limited number that were £39 each and all that was available were £95 each!!!! Toyed with the idea of booking (I get excited about gift giving!) but that is too excessive and I think if bf knew the cost he would be annoyed that I'd spent so much!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Conversation with bf...
Me - I'm annoyed as something didn't work out for a Christmas present. Well I could have made it work, but I think you'd be uncomfortable.
Bf - Why? Was it more expensive?
Me- Yes
Bf - Yeah, don't do that. Don't go crazy!
Oh how things feel so much different! I knew he'd be uncomfortable if he knew I'd spent £190 on tickets and so pleased I didn't cave and get them anyway... no I don't have that much left in the Christmas budget! If I'm correct, there are tickets that go on sale on Christmas eve for a different match (football tickets) - so I may try to get some then as a last minute present, but not count on getting them. It's just I planned to give them as an early Christmas present (game was on 16th December), as I like to make Christmas special including by mid-month surprises (rather than all on one day).
Last night we went food shopping (split the bill so £12.50 each) - will probably need to pick up a few things at the weekend though as we were being indecisive about what we might want to eat! Then after dinner I managed to do an hour or so on the blanket - nearly at the end of the second ball of wool, with a total of 9 for the main body (and then it has sunflowers around the edge in a different colour).
Today's bits and pieces...- Make lunch to take to work
- Load of washing on 30 degree wash
- Make CC over payment (£50)
- Update spreadsheet
- Work on crochet present at lunch
- Hang washing on airer
- Pay lowest amount at acro
- "Dinner" from stores

Well done @twiggy86 for not caving and spending ludicrous sums on tickets! This is how they suck us in, no?! I hope this isn't too personal but ex would not have had this attitude I think? What a relief it must be that's he's no longer in the picture. Onwards and upwards love Humdinger xx2

You're absolutely right @Humdinger1 - ex would have just been happy to have the tickets without thinking of the cost (or implications of the cost!) I don't even say that to criticise ex, it's just a fact. Whereas bf keeps telling me not to go crazy! The difference between me and bf is that he has his kids to buy for (and should be his priority), whereas he is my main person to buy for and I like gift giving. We were joking last night that he feels awkward and doesn't know how to receive gifts - my response was "thanks usually works"!!!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Evening as planned - acro (paid the lowest amount of £7), toast for "dinner" and a small amount of crochet! (Reached the end of the second ball of wool!) Did manage to finalise plans for bf's dad coming down next weekend, which was good as was stressing bf out as he was potentially going to have to drive 10+ hours!
Tonight is netball - game isn't until 9:20 though!!! So I will either meet my friend at the pub before or use the time to crack on with some crochet! Does give me time for a proper dinner though - believe the plan is pasta bake.
Today's bits and pieces...- Make lunch to take to work
- Consider making another CC over payment (£25?)
- Update spreadsheet
- Work on crochet present at lunch - remembered to put a different hook size needed to make the remaining parts in my bag this morning
- Dinner from stores
- Park for free at netball

When I was originally doing work on the house (11-ish years ago) we were going to install a Velux window, which didn't happen in the end. Meaning I'd had this big window sitting around for all that time! Well in the summer my dad's friend said he wanted it, so took it for free - as I just wanted rid, rather than trying to sell. Anyway, I just had £100 turn up in my account from my parents so called to ask why - turns out their friend had sold it for £100 and insisted on passing on the money!
Haven't decided where to allocate it yet - possibly to the DIY pot, as would like to start the downstairs loo project next year. Which reminds me... I got a toilet for free yesterday! It was from the same friend of my dad - his son is a plumber and dad had mentioned the work I'm doing so he said he'd keep a "good loo" if he was taking one out! Apparently he is now keeping his eyes peeled for a sink!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
