Critical life through employer advice

Long story short, I've been suffering a serious neurological condition which is yet to be full diagnosed. It started at the end of the year. Seen lots of doctors and specialists but I am now seeing the right people to the diagnose and hopefully help me with some treatment.

I have critical life cover which does cover the possible condition I have but there are a couple of tests left to make sure.

However I got a call from work saying we are all being tupe over to another company in a couple of months. With that I will lose my critical life cover as it is an optional extra I pay for through work. On my works intranet I looked up the T&C of the policy and it says you can not continue the police when you leave.

I'm seeking advice what I can do. It's just the worst timing that these two events are happening at the same time.
