Calls from Debt Collection Agencies - Not me they want

Options
A mobile number I've had for years (3 PAYG Data Reward) that has never been let loose in the wild has recently started receiving texts and robo-calls from three different (legitimate) debt collection agencies. One message named the intended recipient and it ain't me.

I could just block the numbers and ignore but is there any chance that this failure to reply could somehow impact my credit-worthiness?

Will the man and his mate pop round for a chat?

Stupid paranoia? Should I make contact with three different agencies?

Minded to do nothing at all, after all it's not my debt.

Meanwhile check your credit reports to see if something nasty has snuck on their by someone.  I'd also ensure I had a voicemail answer message to say "Hey there, you've reached flaneurs and I'm not answering.  I'll get back to you  if you leave your name and number and I think it appropriate."

There will be no impact on you whatsoever, I can`t explain how they have tied this debt to your number, they may have got it in anyone of 100 different ways, basic rule of thumb, if you are not the person of interest, then it isn`t your problem, do nothing.

Debts are tied to people, not addresses or phone numbers, its likely a simple mis-trace, contacting them will be pointless as you would not pass security, if the debt was yours, they would write to you, only written requests for payment are of any relevance, texts/emails/calls etc are of no consequence legally.
