Been with HSBC a few years and think it’s one of the most lacking.

The advance account is terrible compared to competitors and may open up a few other products but nothing special really.

Strictest on card limits too I’ve found compared to Amex (always over the top) and places like Halifax/Lloyds in my view.

The global money account is handy though

HSBC, along with the Natwest group, are the only banks I have never had an account with. They have never offered any benefits worth the bother. They did have a decent regular saver once but the barriers to entry were higher than I was prepared to overcome
Natwest group offered a potential of £600 in switch incentives earlier this year, for switching to the 3 different banks within their group. Those benefits were worth the bother to me, plus I opened a couple of regular saver accounts with them.

Just switched from HSBC advance to First direct for the switching bonus and their better rates on savings.

Had my main current account with HSBC for 25 years (have others elsewhere) but their offer is lacking compared to others

Been with HSBC from Midland bank days, no real benefits but they have never messed up either so stuck with them as our "main" account. We also have a £1000 a day withdrawal limit from cash machines that used to be important to me but not these days. All our money goes in to that account and all bills are paid from it via DD. everything else is transferred to Chase and all non bill spending comes from there.
These are the only 2 accounts we use and we are happy with both.
We do each have a swapping account that has done the rounds a few times for switching bonuses but there is never more that £10 in each of those.
