16th December 2023 - slight reduction in Eastern E7 fix offers

The EDF online dashboard is today showing a change to the 31 January 2025 and 31 January 2027 fixes.

31 Jan 25 day rate 35.54p night rate 15.99p SC 44.01p
31 Jan 27 day rate 35.70p night rate 16.06p SC 44.01p

Notes:
This is the first time I've seen a difference between the Jan 25 and Jan 27 fix offers.
The SVT is unchanged.

Check your rates by going to the online dashboard and select 'Change Tariff' from the left hand menu, select to keep your current payment method and then you will be able to select an offer to see the rates.

23rd November 2023 - major change to my offers

The EDF online dashboard is today showing fixes until 31 January 2025 and 31 January 2027, replacing the previous November fixes.

I can only see my own offers as an Economy 7 user in the Eastern region, there has been a major change to the rates ...

31 Jan 25 day rate 36.18p night rate 16.55p SC 44.03p
31 Jan 27 day rate 36.19p night rate 16.56p SC 44.03p

Check your own rates by going to the online dashboard and select 'Change Tariff' from the left hand menu, select to keep your current payment method and then you will be able to select an offer to see the rates.

Previously posted 21st October 2023

The EDF online dashboard is today showing fixes until 30 November 2024 and 30 November 2026, replacing the previous October fixes.

I can only see my own offers as an Economy 7 user in the Eastern region, the rates have increased modestly over the October fixes ...

30 Nov 24 day rate 42.81p night rate 9.19p SC 44.03p
30 Nov 26 day rate 42.80p night rate 9.18p SC 44.03p

previously ...

31 Oct 24 day rate 41.98p night rate 9.01p SC 44.03p
31 Oct 26 day rate 41.97p night rate 9.00p SC 44.03p

Prices inc. VAT.

For anyone who is interested I am on the SVT with these rates (at the moment) ...
day rate 39.92p night rate 8.57p SC 44.03p

I keep an open mind on the fix versus SVT debate which has been discussed a lot recently with well informed Forumites giving cogent reasons to be considered when making choices.

Ouch for the Eastern region economy 7 rates.      Compared to my EDF fix at (n) 0.0824 and (day) 0.4212, the new figures would equate to a £646 a year increase on my 2022 unit count or an increase £1157 on 2021 unit count.

I'm pleased I fixed but now thinking it may have been better to have been fixed on the two year deal.  Although come next Summer when the current fix expires, the pricing is going to be different and, you never know, Eastern region could be back at lower off peak rates again.

    @dunstonh

I'm still on the SVT so I guess it's only time until that changes in a similar way. My usage is not as skewed as yours Dunston but if it is sustained, even though it will not have a major impact (I'm currently around 50:50), I will be looking elsewhere.

I don't know whether Octopus 'specials' may offer me and you a home in the future, but as you say this could be a temporary blip or could it possibly be accidental?

Sorry I missed the OP. I caught the thread halfway down after your update and new unread post. Ouch, that's even higher than the Midlands region fixes. Good call by the MSEer who chose the previous 3 year eastern fix

I've looked into Octopus today and if EDF goes ahead and changes the SVT to be in line with the Essentials E7 fixes for Eastern I will switch to Flexible Octopus (SVT), which takes two working days (can get £50 referral credit), and then on to Agile Octopus.

Flexible Octopus (Eastern) currently comes in at 35.37p/kWh peak, 14.84p/kWh off-peak SC 42.11p/day, inc VAT.
