Based on this experience I might go with Nationwide. That means I have a Mastercard for everyday UK spending from Lloyds and a Visa for holidays from Nationwide.

You seem determined to limit yourself to a single fee-free means of payment when overseas, instead of your current combination of both a Visa and Mastercard. Is there any compelling reason for this? I would never travel without several such means of payment.
    Evolution, not revolution
  • No particular reason.

Over the last few years, since lockdown I guess, I've had a bit of an issue where I have been constantly hopping between accounts and providers, always looking for the next thing to move to. I guess I'm getting over that now and want to scale down a bit, not only to today my wallet up but also to tidy my mind.

I do have a Monzo and Chase account as backup though ;-)
