It won't hurt to send proof of your stay, although you don't have to until the witness statement stage if you don't want to.
Have you complained to the CEO of Travelodge yet? You can find their contact details on the ceoemail website.
CEO email addresses - E-mails address database lists to find contact details of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and Managing Directors - free list - UK - US - Asia - customer services - customer care - boss - top man - top woman - complaints resolver
This gives the CEO as Jo Boydell, and their email address as jo.boydell@travelodge.co.uk

Thanks.
Yes I emailed her + Chairman + customer service at the start of this part of the claim. Each time Customer Service replied saying they couldn't do anything (And removing the CEO from the chain), each time I replied again saying they CAN do something and adding the CEO back on. A rather tedious exchange, and a company I will go out of my way not to give any of my money to in the future.0 -
That sort of censorship should be highlighted to your MP, and possible local and national press.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks1

I submitted by defence by the deadline and received the postal confirmation.
Today I've received a letter direct to me from DCB Legal stating:
"We write in relation to the above matter.
We note you state within your defence you stayed at the Travelodge on the date of the contravention.
Please provide further documentation in support of the above statement within 14 days from the date of this letter in order for us to review the matter further.
We look forward to hearing from you."
Should I ignore this as it isn't for me to provide my evidence directly to them? Or should I provide it to them?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
(Also, the letter is dated 16th November but it only arrived today, 23rd November.)PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Quick update to say I provided the proof of booking directly to the law firm as requested. I then received an email from the Travelodge customer service (their final email to me previously said there was nothing they could do and was essentially telling me to go away) saying "Thanks for your patience, we're trying to get this dropped for you"
I then received a letter from DCB Legal saying that after reviewing the evidence they'll be dropping the claim.
Shall be replying to Travelodge shortly to explain how for the sake of them sending one email to get this cancelled they've now cost themselves any business from me, my family and probably another 10-20 people I'd be occasionally booking into their hotels through work. Probably not a huge sum for them in the grand scheme of things, but certainly worth more to them than the £60 (or £230, depending on which DCB Legal letter you read) they would've been wiping off the slate.
Thanks for everyone's help, and for those on here who've built those templates. Really useful.
My final question is: should I expect something from the court confirming the claim being binned or is the letter from DCB Legal the only confirmation that'll come?2 -
You will need a N279 from the claimant-otherwise it is still live.
Question:-Has the claim been allocated to the small claims court?1
